Chips & Cubes

One rule here saves people a day of scoring, and it is the opposite of what most players assume.

Chip & Cube event points — are scored on
Obtaining the materials, not spending them. Upgrading a chip earns nothing — collect during the event and save the actual upgrades for whenever you like.

Chip promoters — can be bought in
The Ruins shop, for medals. Both sources list it as a place to stock up before the scoring day.

Collect on the day, upgrade whenever

The instinct is to spend the day upgrading chips, because upgrading feels like progress. It scores nothing. Points land when the material enters your bag, so the day is for acquiring — open your choice boxes, buy from the shops, claim your quest rewards. The upgrades themselves can wait until any other day of the week and cost you nothing.

Why this page is short

Almost everything published about chips and cubes in English is a rewards table — which prize you get at which points threshold. Those change, and a stale rewards table is worse than no page. We publish the rules that survive a patch, and there are two of them.

Withheld: pns-mit.org states that Troop Chips and troop chip promoters do not count toward this event. That is genuinely useful and we would like to publish it — it is stated once, in one language, so it stays off the page.
